There are lots of different seasons of couponing. You might be stuck in a season or changing weekly into new seasons. Please remember that the seasons are good! We can learn to have peace with couponing the more seasons we experience.
Learning Season. While in the learning season you tend to make mistakes and might have some frustration issues. This season is to help you cultivate your couponing techniques. You will be a more patient thankful couponer the longer you spend in this season. This season will NOT last forever!
Addiction Season. Many of us are all to familiar with this season. This season is your most excited time. You will find your self driving 20 min away to score a free trial size can of shaving cream! You will be attracted to any store that has something free to offer. Your stockpile will grow the most during this season. You will tell random strangers about the deals you are planning to get, the deals you got and the deals you missed out on. This season is so fun!
Matured Season. In this season you realize you have discovered a great thing and your family is so blessed! You have a bigger stockpile than you ever thought you would. You are no longer traveling all over in search of free items. You have a weekly routine set for your shopping and saving. You are able to hold conversations not related to coupons! At this stage you are content with getting deals, missing out on deals, and passing up deals. This season has the most peace! I believe we are happiest at this season, but need to go through the others to end up here!
Burn Out Season. This is also a season you will go through and go through again. This season can be brought upon by bad experiences, busyness, life, ext… During this season you will go to the store and buy something at full price just to prove you still can. You might even be annoyed/jealous by people talking about coupons or deals they have scored. This stage can also help you to settle into your Matured Season. Mine happened this summer. I love the summer and completely let go of couponing. Yes I still got great deals, but they fell into my lap, I did not make them happen!
Giving Season. This stage is my favorite! In this season you will realize how many free items are in this world and how many great deals there are weekly. You cant keep them all for yourself they WILL go to waste. So you look for people in need or organizations to help you pass your deals on. In this season you reap the biggest rewards! Yes even bigger than the Addiction Season.
